GASP! An-uther dee-gee-tahl?!?! Yes, traditional art still hasn't set back in yet. Believe me that this sword looked a lot worse before I touched it up on the computer.
Speaking of which, I touched this very minimally after I scanned it, pretty much only straightening things out and adding color to the edge of the blade. I fixed a few ugly blemishes and whatnot, but what I'm stating is that I left the penciled colors mostly how they were/are.
The design is something I used for an icon many years ago, which I copied into pencil/paper format (mostly); it's *fairly* true to its original representation. This sword doesn't actually have a name either; when I made the icon, I simply titled it "Crazy Design" and let that be the end of it. I didn't think that name would work here though, and I had trouble thinking up a name, so I'm just calling it by its classification.
Guts may have popularized the oversize sword, but Cloud Strife assured its place in popular culture. This was partly motivated by the Buster Sword, particularly in the haft. I have a few oversize sword designs actually, though they're almost completely limited to my icons, which I'd need to work to turn into drawings. Hopefully though I can work that little detail out. ; )
